Youth Ministry at Lake Ridge
The student ministry at Lake Ridge is composed of 7th – 12th graders. Much of what we do is done as a whole, but we do divide the groups for part of the year for Bible study. Jonathan Shotts, our Jr. High Director and Ben Lowery, our Youth Pastor, teach the 7th – 12th grade students.
If you have students in your home who would benefit from the godly influence of other students and leaders, then we would like to invite them to join us on Sundays from 9:00am – 11:30am. Students attend the first worship service and have Sunday school the second hour. Also, join us on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm – 8:30pm for Bible studies and fellowship time.
In the Lake Ridge student ministry, we are strongly devoted to teaching the Bible. We believe that students are both capable and in need of doing in-depth Bible study that challenges them to live godly lives of service to Jesus Christ. Students in this youth ministry have many opportunities to engage in evangelism and missions as an outlet to the teaching they receive on a weekly basis. We also believe that it is important for the students to have outlets for service within the local body of believers at Lake Ridge Bible Church. Many of our students volunteer for ministries like AWANA Clubs or VBS.
We also schedule several “big events” throughout the year. Youth Camp, Fall Retreat, Crash Weekend, and mission trips are all examples of big events that our students take part in throughout the year. These events are built around Bible teaching, but also have a focus on relationship building and group unity. Lifelong memories are formed at these events, and we all look forward to them every year.
